A client you should know

I have collected some great clients over the years and have met so many awesome people while taking their headshots.  In fact, I keep a photo album of them all and hug it every night before I go to sleep.  Okay, not really- that would be creepy.  I have no such album.  However, if I did, Scott Schechter would be in it.

Scott Schechter headshotScott is a great financial adviser who I had the pleasure of photographing a little over a year ago.  I know what you’re thinking… “how can she know he’s a great financial adviser just by taking his photo?”  And you’re right- I’m not a clairvoyant.  However, Scott is also MY financial adviser, so my claim still stands true because it is based on personal experience.  He became my adviser somewhere in 2008 or 2009 (my memory gets fuzzy when dealing with anything prior to breakfast) when I had the sudden realization that I would one day be too old and arthritic to pick up a camera and would need to have some kind of retirement savings.  Being a small business owner and totally on my own for financial planning and managing, I went to Scott to help me plan for retirement so I don’t become a ward of the state when I turn 100.  Also, plan to live to 100 and start talking like Yoda I am.

After a couple years of getting Scott’s newsletter in the mail I decided to give him a call.  …Because I couldn’t stand looking at the photo he was using in the newsletter.  It looked like he stood in front of a blank wall and someone shorter than him took his photo with a camera phone.  I think the phone conversation went something like this:

“Hey Michelle, how’s it going?”

“Great, Scott. How are you?”

“Doing well. What can I do for you today? Any questions about market volatility or max Roth IRA contribution changes this year?”

“Nope. I’m calling to tell you your headshot sucks. You should stop by my studio for a new one.”

And so he did.  And his new headshot has been smiling back at me in his newsletter ever since, and I have sound financial planning in place, and I couldn’t be happier.  So I wanted to introduce my headshot client, Scott Schechter, to all my other clients here, in case anyone is in the need for a great financial adviser.  He does a great job at assessing an individual’s overall situation and finding the best plan of action to fit their individual goals- including long term retirement planning, short term wealth building, investments, insurance planning, group/employee investment options, and so forth.
