Every year I donate photography services to a small amount of non-profit organizations, to give back to my community and for the selfish reason of feeling warm and fuzzy inside for helping out. This week I photographed a fundraising party that launched the US branch of the Ozzie Guillen Foundation, which was originally founded in 1998 by Ozzie and his wife Ibis to provide support to children and families affected by illness. The event, hosted by Nina Chantele and Ozzie Guillen, was a tremendous success and a heck of a lot of fun. I took lots of red carpet shots of VIP guests, and wandered around capturing the raffle fun.
Next month, I’ll be photographing a masquerade ball fundraiser for the Children’s Place: an organization that supports children and families affected by HIV and AIDS. Tickets are still available for that event, so I’ll see you there!
