How do I get my photos after a shoot and how long will it take?

After your headshot session, we will send you an online gallery to view all your photos, typically within 2 business days. In the gallery, you’ll be able to sort your images and download the photos you want to keep as high-resolution digital files.  Some downloads are included (for example, 2 downloads come with a 1-look headshot session, 4 downloads with a 2-look session, 6 downloads with a portrait session), then additional downloads and retouching is available for purchase.  See our full pricing here

What do I wear for my photos?

When picking clothing to bring to your session, think of classic clothing that doesn’t distract from your face. You should choose clothing that is simple, fits well, and makes you feel confident.  Here are Headshot Tips more in-depth tips on what to wear for your headshots.

Do I need a makeup artist? How does it work?

A lot of our clients add a makeup artist to their session – it helps everyone look like themselves, but on their best day. Our makeup artists are trained in makeup for photography and specialize in natural-looking headshots, so make sure you look like a camera-ready version of yourself. If you’re on the fence about whether you need a makeup artist, read about who should get a makeup artist here.  If you add a makeup artist, come barefaced (or with cleanser to remove makeup) and with your hair clean, dry, and how you normally style it. You can also add hair styling with heat tools (curling irons/flat irons) and/or a blowout. Adding a makeup artist requires a $50 non-refundable deposit. (waived during the pandemic)

Do you offer anything besides traditional solid backgrounds?

Yes, we can use an environmental backdrop for your photos.  Some of our options are indoors, and some are outdoors, weather permitting. We can also create any custom backdrop color or place you somewhere else entirely with our new green screen photography!

Why are location shoots priced higher than a normal headshot session?

Location shoots often require finding a good location for your needs, and going to a location and setting up/completing a session outside of the studio often takes up most of the photographer’s day when you add travel and prep time. We are happy to do this and LOVE location shoots, but the pricing reflects the extra time and effort that goes into making these sessions as awesome as they can be.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have both free street parking around the building, and one parking space in our lot. When you book your session, let us know if you need the parking spot in our lot, and we will reserve it for you (it’s free).

How many photos do you take in a headshot session?

We take as many photos as we need so that you and the photographer are both confident that there are plenty of quality photographs to choose from.  For some people in a typical headshot session, that’s about 50-100 photos, for longer shoots or multiple looks it can be more.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

You can cancel/reschedule a headshot session by following the link in your confirmation email. Please note, if you do this within 48 hours of your session, you will be charged a fee ($50 for sessions without makeup, $100 for sessions with makeup).
